Every quarter Pillar Properties selects a non-profit organization to support as part of our Pillar Passions Program. As a locally owned private family company, we want to do all we can to make a difference in our community.
This quarter Pillar Properties is supporting Folds of Honor in their efforts to provide educational scholarships to the family members of American service men and women who are injured or killed in the line of duty.
For the month of September we partnered with the area golf courses to support this worthy organization. Pillar Properties purchased special Titleist Pro-V1 Patriot Golf Day balls to support Folds of Honor to give to our residents when they played at the participating golf courses.
We also had events at each of our properties to support Folds of Honor. Our incredibly talented maintenance team constructed a full-size miniature golf hole for our residents and team members to putt on. All it took was a donation to Folds of Honor to test your putt putt skills! Every hole-in-one made earned you a raffle ticket to win some pretty awesome prizes including gift cards, golf gear and swag from the 2015 U.S. Open!
But of course, what’s an event without food! Our properties got a little more creative than just traditional BBQ. We served everything from Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches to a full taco bar spread to fried chicken with all the fixings! Our residents and team members had a blast putting for a great cause!
June is Pillar Loves Pets Month! This is our time to celebrate the furry friends who make life so much better and we want you and your pet to join us! We love pets of all shapes and sizes and our apartments features some swell pet amenities, too. We have some seriously cute pets living at our apartments and this is the month for them to shine. And maybe win you some cash!
We kicked off the month by supporting the Seattle Animal Shelter Furry 5k at Seward Park. The place was jumping with dogs (and their owners) and it was so much fun to watch the action from our booth while we handed out some doggie treats. It was really great to see some of our residents drop by to say hello too!
The Furry 5k raises funds for the shelter, which takes in approximately 6,000 stray and owner-surrendered animals each year. Since so many of these animals are in need of significant care, they created the Help the Animals Fund in 1977, and all proceeds from the Furry 5K help fund their mission. By the way, if you missed the walk, but want to support the Help the Animals Fund, you still can by visiting this online donation form.

Last year, hundreds of our residents and neighbors voted, choosing Leo and Tucker as the cutest pets in the Pacific Northwest, followed closely by Loki and Oliver. Think you can top them this year? Good luck!
We are proud of our partnership with KING5 to cheer on the Seahawks and help fill the shelves at Northwest Harvest. We had a food drive at each of our properties and everyone who donated got a pair of these cool KING5 #twelfie shades!
Team members modeling the #twelfie shades!
And while the Seahawks didn’t quite bring home the victory (so close!), the big winner was Northwest Harvest as generous fans from all over Puget Sound donated more than 75,000 meals in the week leading up to the Super Bowl.
KING5 was live during their morning news outside of Stadium Place on Super Blue Friday with a long line of 12s patiently waiting to donate and get their #twelfie glasses!
We even had some little 12s wait in line to donate!
We want to thank our residents and everyone else who was part of the food drive, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Stadium Place resident Helen woke up early to donate and get her #twelfie shades!
We donated, too! Our VP of Multi Family Operations, Diana Norbury and VP of Construction and Plan Operations, Scott Haines presented a check to Northwest Harvest live on KING5 News!
